A beautiful vintage albert chain consisting of 18ct yellow and platinum curb links laid out in a striped pattern, creating a wonderful two-tone effect.
Albert chains were named after Prince Albert and were used by wealthy Victorian gentlemen to secure a pocket watch by attaching it via the T-bar to the buttonhole of a waistcoat. They later became a popular accessory for women as well and converted into beautiful necklaces and bracelets.
It’s a gorgeous piece and has a lovely weight and silky feel to it. It’s fitted with a secure ring and claw clasp at the end and a T-bar at the bottom complete with the maker’s initials.
